Fozzy in Glasgow Review
By Amanda & Sanj
Amanda) I Left my House in Faversham in Kent at 7.15pm on Sunday 16th October to get to Canterbury for 8.00pm for the coach to London at 23.00 which got into Glasgow at 7.30am on the 18th long journeys but totally worth it for Fozzy:-) I looked around the city centre & found the club where Fozzy would be playing later until 12.30.
(Sanj) I had to go to Birmingham new street station from coventry (where my uni is) to get my glasgow train. Luckily I found a seat! I was really excited about this tour as I knew it would be excellent. I made myself go to sleep go a while because I knew I wouldn't be sleeping much on this tour! lol My train was due at glagow at 1.20pm and at one point I thought the train was gonna get delayed and thought just my luck! I got there before 1.20 which was good. I met up with amanda and off we went....in search of the hotel which was a pretty good long walk away from the train station. From what I had seen glasgow is a lovely place, just wished I could have seen a lot more.
(Amanda) We stayed at the hotel 'til around 4 then we went to get something to eat.
(Sanj) Weatherspoons. Lovely meals!
(Amanda) After which we met up James, Lisa, Ann, Des, Tomma & a few others (Fozzy Forum buddies) as it was still early we went into Yates for a few drinks, we chatted for a while and didn't come out until 8.30. We then headed to the ABC just before 9 o'clock.
(Sanj) The support band, 19th Century, were just finishing off when we got in. The venue was packed out, well it was sold out afterall!
(Amanda) We didn't have a great view to start with. Fozzy came on at 9.30 we gradually made out way to the side where Sean & Mike were nearer the front. The guys played an awesome set which was:
Nameless Faceless,
Don't You Wish U Were Me,
Daze Of The Weak,
Crucify Your Self
Wanderlust
End Of Days
Freewheel Burning
Eat The Rich
Feel The Burn
With The Fire
Encore
To Kill A Stranger
Enemy
Although it should be Crucify Yourself & Wanderlust round the other way as Chris did it wrong in Glasgow which got a 'You F***** Up' chant going. They also started a Fozzy, Y2J and glasgow chant.
(Sanj) When Chris said that the next song was Crucify Yourself but in fact it was Wanderlust I was thinkin, along with a few others, 'this is not Crucify Yourself!' lol. Hey we all make mistakes! About the chants.....whats up with the ECW chants?!? There was no need for that to get started...a bit wierd really considering it was a FOZZY gig and not a wrestling show!
This was the first time I got to see the new dude Eric play. Let me tell you, the guy is awesome! I can't imagine how hard he must of worked before the tour started! I bet he was a God send to the rest of them. Mike "Holy S**t" Martins also rocked while doing his solo. For me it was like "WOW!" everytime he did a solo!
(Amanda) The Pix on my digi camera came out crap I need a new one, hopefully the disposables will be better :-)It truly was a great show, if anyone gets the chance just to see one show with these guys its well worth it a tour is even better:-))
(Sanj) I love my brand new digi cam! I got some really good shots considering I was standing right against a wall! The zoom on that camera is excellent! I'm sure during the show Rich waved at me! I just smiled and didn't wave back just in case he wasn't waving at me! lol....I'm pretty sure he was though. As Amanda has said if ya ever get a chance to see these guys perform....you will be blown away be how talented each member is.
(Amanda) After the show we waited for the guys to come out eventually they did at around 12.30am, we spoke to Sean for abit.
(Sanj) Who recognized me from the Fozzy forum as I spoke to him a few times.
(Amanda & Sanj) We spoke about the show and a bit about kent, mainly Dover & Portsmouth to do with cruises and stuff. We stayed with Ann, Des, Lisa & James & talked with Rich and Eric for like what seemed hours, about a lot of different stuff from rap music to Glasgow to Chris anything & everything really then a few random people started interrupting including some random Scot who came up & told us how much Scotland sucked & how we should get out lol, needless to say that went down well, especially when he realised a few of the group were from Glasgow lol, The guys are sooo friendly & easy to talk too, we finished talking to the guys around 2.30 - 2.45 am so then we headed back to the hotel which was up the road really, interally up a road! lol. very steep, so it wasn't too far thankfully, Great start to the tour Awesome Night.
(Sanj) If we had sooooo much fun at this gig...can you imagine the fun we had at the other gigs?
