Yes folks our exciting day with Fozzy began with a nap! *Cue Ozzy Osbourne voice * Rock and Roll!! Toad came over with beer and that pretty much woke us up straight away and, while we waited for Chris to get back from his shower to go to the signing at Forbidden Planet, we drank some more and chatted with the two guys from the store where he'd be signing. We were introduced to Sean and Rich (2 more of the nicest guys you could wish to meet!) and then the boss, Gary, showed up armed with video camera and our official Wrestle-Zone shirts! We had a bit of a bitch and moan at each other as is the norm, got changed and then headed off to Forbidden Planet with the man himself, Chris Jericho.
While we were being introduced to Chris outside some random girl came over, proclaimed her undying love for him and then promptly burst into tears! Don't get me wrong I am not making fun of her here, it was just very surreal for me to be on the 'other' side of all of this & for a change, I wasn't proclaiming my undying love for anyone! You go girl! If that was you drop us a line because I thought it was awesome! It was quite amusing to be walking down the street in Newcastle city centre with a former WWE Superstar! The looks from the passers by were hysterical to see as they did double-takes and some of them even stopped and stared (Wouldn't you?) and there were a lot of confused 'where have I seen this guy before' type of looks, and the occasional 'why the hell is that guy walking backwards with a camcorder? This dude must be famous!' looks!
At Forbidden Planet we were able to stand to one side of Chris while he signed his autograph 3 million times! It was great to see the kids there and the favourite question of the day was "Do you like John Cena?" There were some real characters including a guy who brought his University schedule to be signed as 'he just found out about the signing and that was all he had', so Chris joked about how many days off he got! One kid brought an old copy of 'WOW' with Jericho on the cover looking like it had been in this kids back pocket for the last 3 years! Someone had an old copy of Powerslam that Chris took the time to read and hinted that he didn't have that copy, but the kid wouldn't give it up!
